Produced in 2013, this CD is the introduction to our new series of four Hopi language lessons. Hopilavayvenpi: The Hopi Alphabet in Conversation comes with an audio recording and booklet that teach the Hopi language by introducing the 21 symbols that make up the Hopi alphabet, Hopilavayvenpi. Starting with the vowels, each symbol is pronounced and example words are given to allow the listener to hear the pronunciation. After going through the 21 symbols, common Hopi phrases are introduced and pronounced in Hopi as well. The listener learns not only the symbols that make up Hopilavayvenpi, they also learn words, phrases and simple sentences.

Learning how to pronounce Hopi words like a native speaker is difficult but not impossible. The better your pronunciation, the better people will understand you and the easier you will find it to understand them.
